More than 130,000 people live with MS in the UK, and many have been shielding at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many people in England can begin to slowly ease out of lockdown, the PM failed to address how long vulnerable people will be confined to their homes for.
People shielding are extremely anxious and worried, and the Government must prioritise their needs – from ensuring they receive food deliveries to looking after their physical and mental health.
Alongside direct support, we urgently need the Government to give charities like @mssocietyuk – the starved frontline of a long-term response – a lifeline to continue to reach the MS community during extended self-isolation and beyond.
