Received word that @blockstack PBC cannot offer direct aid in furthering the development of the decentralised ID hardware wallet we have been working on. Any ideas? The prototype works. We need funding to move forward.
The "enter your (12 word) Secret Key to continue" UX design leads to bad security practices. People with less experience will leave files lying around their computers for easy access. And how do their bring they DID with them? A hardware device solves all this and more.
Losing a seed is an order of magnitude worse than losing a traditional password. It means that your DID and the dapps you use it for are compromised forever. I am not sure if many people using the current authentication flow realise that. Where do they store their seed(s)?
Not to mention that I believe that seeds should never remain on devices that are directly connected to the internet. I get a little nervous every time an app asks me to input a seed to do something.
