Yes, that’s a thought. Don’t bully yourself for thinking it.

But also, put down the phone. Shoulding yourself like this is shaming yourself, and it’s only going to end with more shame.
IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT IF YOUR MOTHER HAS NEVER (or rarely) LOVED YOU THE WAY YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED, THE WAY MOTHERS SHOULD LOVE THEIR CHILDREN.

You are still loveable, and her inability to express that is about her and not you.
This is the first year I’ve not tortured myself about whether or not I’m a bad daughter.

I’m not. I’m a daughter who did all I could and set boundaries that she didn’t or couldn’t accept, which revealed that harm was all I could receive there unless she changes (unlikely).
