It seems like Republicans/conservatives get backed into a corner on a regular basis in which they have to explain to voters that they aren’t racist. This sort of thing probably plays a prominent role in the GOP’s abysmal performance with minorities.
In the case of #AhmaudArbery, I’m seeing more and more posts justifying the actions of the McMichaels that resulted in Arbery’s death.
I’m no lawyer but lawyers have pointed out per GA law...
-Entering an open building under construction is not illegal
-Citizens cannot detain suspects for questioning
-Pointing or brandishing a gun without justification is illegal
Further, Arbery was not wearing boots and carrying a hammer as some claim.

Even if he was, that would not change applicable laws.
I do think there is some latent prejudice among those who try to justify the murder by claiming that A was criminal or he brought it upon himself by trying to grab gun.
If you shoot someone trying to defend themselves while you illegally point a gun at them, you’re at fault.
Those who denounce the actions of the McMichaels and the apparent coverup by the DA should be applauded, but those who are making excuses for a bad and illegal shooting should consider how it reflects on their party.
If you want minorities to vote GOP, first stop doing and saying things that seem racist. And don’t try to rationalize murder.
