In both cases it’s a matter of explanation. They appear supernatural because they appear inexplicable. But we see otherwise.
This can even be used for comic effect! One of my favourite devices is when a character’s incompetence is misinterpreted by others as *hyper*-competence (Dumb and Dumber, Pineapple Express).
And I think this explains a lot of AI/AGI “super intelligence” thinking. If you only ever see an ELO chess rating, without seeing the games, the program appears otherworldly.

But analysing the games always breaks that illusion. It’s always explainable.
