Nigerians love their tyrants.

I'm seeing a lot of takes on Wike and it is so saddening that we have become these people that think the way to any solution has to involve extrajudicial excessive force, we think the only way to prove a point is to act like mad people.

Madness!
I can't believe that I have to say this again but, Nigeria is a DEMOCRATIC country and maybe a lot of people do not understand what this is. A democracy means you have certain rights by default which include, not limited right to a fair trial and right to ownership of property.
For these rights to be taken away, there is a constitutionally approved process that must be followed. Any abandonment of these processes is a trepanation of your rights as eschewed in the constitution of the country which guards our rules of engagement towards eachother and
ensure governments do not act ultra vires. These laws cannot be put aside simply because (you're trying to prove a point), they are there to ensure nobody takes the law into their own hands regardless who they might be and to ensure the powerful cannot trample upon the common.
So, it is a fucking shame that we have to repeat this things because some of us feel tyranny is good when it is used to prove a point. Are you an animal? Why do you only believe in force. Everything must be gragra.
This is a further indication that we were right to oppose the NCDC bill because even without legal backing, some people have turned themselves judge and jury over other people. Imagine when they have legal backing. A governor does not decide what is law. We have lawmakers for
that. That is why we pay them from taxpayer's money to represent us and make laws that have the common interest embellished into them. That's why we have lawyers to argue out the case before we can deem someone guilty.
These two very important steps have been bypassed and it is against the rules of engagement in a democratic society. It is at best overzealousness and at worst tyranny. But even amongst us, supporters of tyranny abound. The ones who think our freedom should be at the mercy of one
man who makes himself lord over others even though he was elected to represent them.

I say again. It makes no fucking sense that such thoughts will even find a place in a democracy. But what these people forget is that, there's always enough tyranny to go about.
Having people like Wike go unopposed, egged on even means there are other governors who will follow in his footsteps. Emergency powers at the peril of our freedom is hustling backwards. What benefit does he do anyone else to have that hotel destroyed?
I'll understand sealing it up after getting a court order, and then having lawyers do their jobs thus giving the one who has been deemed to be a law broker his constitutional right to a fair trial. Common! You're dealing with citizens not terrorists.
How can a structure break curfew even? It is not like a building is going anywhere. If the people who occupy it have been deemed to break a law, then arrest them lawfully and make them face trial, this makes sense no? What is this sanctioned madness!!
I'm even more disgusted by people who will defend such acts of madness. How are we sure the man is just not pursuing personal vendetta, do you people even think?

You live in a democratic society but, you're so oppressed, you have fallen in love with your oppressors and the idea
of your oppression. A most shameful case of the Stockholm Syndrome.

Laws are laws for a reason.

But, I guess it is not about the laws. It is about whether you like the tyrant or not.

You protest the tyrants you hate and egg on the ones you love.
Injustice anywhere is still injustice everywhere.

Forgive me for not trying to reason with your tyranny loving ass and calling you what you are, a tyranny apologist.

But like I always say. There's enough tyranny to go around.

Kontinu.
