The thread containing my thoughts on modern Doctor Who starts here! Without further ado: allons-y and geronimo! #DoctorWhoRewatch
Season 1 (2005)

RTD reboots the show with style! Despite being 15 years old, this season holds up remarkably well! Christopher Eccleston is (naturally) fantastic, and Billie Piper is the best she’s ever been as Rose. This is just a strong season of television in general.
Christopher Eccleston is absolutely fantastic as The Doctor. He gets a lot of great laughs, but he excels in portraying the character’s tortured side. He gives an incredibly moving, raw performance. I understand why he left, but man, I wish he’d stayed on just a bit longer!
No word of a lie, my first thought after rewatching Series 1 was: ‘wow, Billie Piper is REALLY talented’. I’d forgotten how great she was in the role of Rose Tyler. In S1, she’s at her best: she’s no pushover, but she can still be a little bit naive. Rose is a great companion!
Best Episode: Dalek
Written by Robert Shearman

While I’ve grown to really appreciate episodes like Rose and Father’s Day, Dalek has always been a favourite. It was the first episode of the show I ever saw! On rewatch, it remains the best Dalek story... ever? It’s so, SO good.
Worst Episode: The Long Game
Written by Russell T. Davies

I want to preface this by saying that there are no episodes in S1 that I outright hate - this is just a weak/average episode. Adam Mitchell is an annoying character, and worst of all: this episode wastes Simon Pegg!
Season 2 (2006)

Season 2 is easily the weakest of the four seasons we got while was Russell was show-runner. It’s a step down from S1, but only because of its inconsistency. S2 has got some wonderful episodes/arcs, but it’s bogged down by some of the worst ‘Davies era’ episodes!
