I have cried more times than I can count about how useless I feel in the face of a tidal wave of pain coming from our constituents. and I'm not even on our constituent services team, who face these problems day in and day out. i don't know how they do it.

I used to think that if I were connected to power, I could be a direct line for those in need. it's not enough. even if my boss himself made calls on behalf of these people, it wouldn't fix their problems. it's a deep, systemic involving money and influence.

I don't have a point to this thread. or a singular solution. campaign finance reform. lobbying reform. voting reform. we need all of that and more.
