we get endless calls from people who think we can help. that we can save their business, their mortgage, their well-being. I feel guilt + shame. they reach out believing in us & I can& #39;t do a damned thing. I can& #39;t even help my dad get a PPP loan, or my friend get unemployment. https://twitter.com/leahgreenb/status/1259140479557435393">https://twitter.com/leahgreen...
I have cried more times than I can count about how useless I feel in the face of a tidal wave of pain coming from our constituents. and I& #39;m not even on our constituent services team, who face these problems day in and day out. i don& #39;t know how they do it.
I used to think that if I were connected to power, I could be a direct line for those in need. it& #39;s not enough. even if my boss himself made calls on behalf of these people, it wouldn& #39;t fix their problems. it& #39;s a deep, systemic involving money and influence.
I don& #39;t have a point to this thread. or a singular solution. campaign finance reform. lobbying reform. voting reform. we need all of that and more.
