Folks who think like this, I'm really curious, this is a sincere question, what do you think will happen if we end lock down?

I'm going to walk through this, so bare with me.

The virus isn't going to go away on its own. For some reason you're angry with the government for> https://twitter.com/drizzleanddip/status/1259370946361786370
Something they have little control over. If you're worried about people starving, then demand a better system for helping people who need food. If you're worried about not having an income to pay bills, demand mortgage, rent and insurance freezes. >
If you're worried about small businesses, demand to start up e-commerce and other business support. If you're worried about children getting behind in school, demand they hand out radios and broadcast lessons in all eleven languages.

Etc etc

Demand actual solutions>
Because let's think about ending lockdown.
•We still won't have tourism
•We still can't sit in restaurants or theatres or movies
•We won't go visit anyone vulnerable
•We're still going to struggle with imports because other countries have lockdowns
•we still won't have >
Concerts or sports events
•many businesses will not have enough customers. People won't be flocking to things with a high risk of infection. Some will sure. But when the death toll goes up, they'll stop
Which leads me to my next point.
What WILL we have if we end lock down>
People will be sick or caring for the sick. This will greatly impact the economy. Many people will be missing work all at once. We won't be employing the people that you're pretending to care about. Either we'll be sick, they'll be sick, or we'll all be afraid of getting it>
Then people will start dying in much greater numbers because the doctors and nurses will be sick or isolating, and there won't be enough healthcare workers in the hospital's.
Are you prepared for that?
Are you prepared to watch the numbers of dead people rise in the thousands?
>
Everyday!
Is that what you want?
A lot of people dead and a tanked economy anyway, because the economy needs healthy people.
Remember what you're asking for here. Lots of people to die because you can't sit at home and keep yourself safe, to keep others safe>
We can't pretend there isn't a highly contagious and quite deadly virus that we have no immunity for. We don't know enough about it yet. But we know it can overwhelm countries. And we know if you survive you can end up with health problems for life.

One last thing to remember>
Dead people can't pay taxes or wages or insurance.
Dead people can't look after their families.
We could be looking at 400 000 people dead if we can't keep the curve/infection rate low enough. The economy can not afford to lose that many people.
Think about it>
We'd lose so much talent and expertise, managers and business owners, CEO's and lawyers, teachers and carers, doctors and surgeons. We'd lose precious people who are currently our essential workers which you seem to be happy to throw away.

Please, think about it
