In Jan, a senior GNA official had said Turkey planned a completely defensive strategy for its intervention ie to ensure Tripoli does not fall, while pushing GNA to negotiate with LNA (Turkey has been pushing that throughout war)

"They say you can"t win militarily, you need to negotiate with the east" is how position was summed

The result was GNA agreed to peace deal in Moscow, Haftar did not. Truce repeatedly broken with shelling of Tripoli including port attack that killed Turkish officers.

Per the official at the time, Turkey planned defensive ops *but*would strike in the east if it was attacked. It was (repeatedly) but so far had been content with switching to offensive posture to help GNA regain territory around Tripoli.

Question though is despite the show of anger whether Turkey really believes LNA was actually trying to target its embassy (extremely implausible. More likely errant shells meant for port)

And LNA went on to (also implausibly) deny they had anything to do with the rocket attack
