I am about to rewatch Rise of Skywalker to see if my feelings about it have changed. It’ll be my fourth viewing, and upon my previous one I disliked it. I’ll update this thread once I do!
Okay, I think I’ve finally come to a firm conclusion on this film. I like it...
It still has issues, but upon this rewatch some of my issues were minimized or solved completely, and I found more things to like about it.
The trio here all get some solid character development, and in making them better characters it overall improves this trilogy.
Kylo Ren also gets a good send off here, and his character arc is completed in a fitting way. This movie cements him as my favorite character in this trilogy.
The score is fantastic as usual, and the cinematography is actually very impressive. I’d say it’s some of the best ever in Star Wars. These two things help add to the emotion in this film, which gets me right in the heart every time.
There are still a good amount of issues, but I won’t name them. I plan on making a YT video about this soon and I’ll link it at the bottom of this thread when I do. Overall, again, I like it. It’s a good overall movie imo. It definitely moved up a few spots on my SW list.
