It’s becoming very clear that a whole lot of people think “the economy” is some sort of disembodied force that only helps rich people as opposed to a word for the things we all do to sustain ourselves and put food on the table and a roof over our heads
Expressing a desire to improve the economy so that people can provide for themselves and their families is not the same thing as recklessly doing whatever it takes to “add a point to the Dow.” It’s extremely gross, and obviously politically motivated, to equate them.
Expressing a desire to enable millions of people to eventually regain their livelihoods is not the same as saying you don’t care if people die of disease. This is a bad situation with lots of difficult tradeoffs. Enough with these attempts to silence people who acknowledge that.
