My take on players swapping from CS to Valorant. There are at least 100+ players in the CS community that have over 10,000+ hours, or close to, clocked in-game, but aren't contracted to legit orgs. Do you realize how much of a commitment...
That is to the game? Hell, anything? Those 10,000 hours is roughly 3.5 years of a 9 to 5 job. Take that into consideration, then think about how competitive landing an org is, job insecurity, required travel, lack of tier 2/3 prize pools, and lack of generally....
Everything in relation to that kind of committment; of course people are going to make the swap. We have already seen a push for more org support pre launch for Valorant than we have in CS for years. People want to defend CS? I'm all for it, hell I still pay for ESEA even...
After my VIP dropped like 4 years ago, and I never pug. I fully support the CS community and will til I die, but the amount of hate people are getting, joke or not, about swapping is a slap in face to every competitor who has grinded CS because they wanted to be the best...
I just dont think people understand the mindset these players have. It's the best or nothing, but when you have a lack of resources between all these amazing players... You have to look at other options. This tweet, by far is way too long, but it pains me to see some responses...
@ players choosing a different path. I guess this is more or a support tweet for every gamer I know from my community that had to make the hard decision and gamble on Valorant, and a tweet for people who are saying, "but why swap?"...
I hope the Valorant scene explodes, I hope CS players finally get the attention, updates, and resources they deserved far before Valorant stepped into the space.
TLDR: I pppreicate the commitment and decision some of these players have made, and I hope you do too. Love yuh.
