As a headteacher the decisions I’ve had to make in the last 8 weeks have been the hardest I’ve ever had to make.

As a head I’ve asked people to put themselves at risk on a daily basis.

We’ve stayed open for keyworker children both from our school and other schools...
... I don’t know a headteacher who doesn’t want to reopen their school, but equally I don’t know a one who doesn’t carry the burden of the risk this will create heavily.

To request that this is done in the safest way possible is not cowardly it’s responsible...
...my staff and our community are dependent on us making the right choices for their safety.

Constant media attacks are damaging to a profession that has carried out the task asked of it to the best of its ability...
....We’ll open when the government asks us to open, in the way they want us to open. I don’t think it’s too much to ask that we recieve the right guidance and support to do that as safely as we can.
