As someone who hires artists, no one cares where you went to school, when you went to school, or if you graduated. It's all about what your work looks like and if you're a decent person. That's it.
I've hired people who didn't major in animation. I know people that dropped out hat are working artists. I would never hold it against anyone. It's expensive as hell. The concept of not hiring an artist based on what they could afford when they were 18 years old is ludicrous.
If you're dropping out because of the pandemic? I can guarantee that any employer that thinks "Whoa wait, you dropped out because of a worldwide disease breakout? I don't know if we can hire you..." is someone who also walks around grocery stores, maskless, and scoffing.
