I remember when lockdown was announced. No BSL interpreter meant #deaf people had to play catch-up in terms of following public health information. As the Government changes its messaging today, it’s imperative that this does not happen again. #WhereIsTheInterpreter

Right now, confusion is dangerous, and harms the ‘national effort’ against this virus. All those expressing confusion at this new #StayAlert slogan, consider #deaf people’s current situation regarding the lack of an in-person BSL interpreter, and join us in calling for one.

It’s also worth mentioning that these graphics aren’t helpful for those who are colourblind, either. With thanks to @colourblindorg and @jasonlikesbikes for bringing this issue to my attention. Government communications are inaccessible - they must do better, urgently.
