The sale opened. The tickets were all gone faster than I could grab any. I was crushed.
But determined. I sketched a backup plan. I didn't particularly want to go to Bonnaroo, but it sounded fun and tickets were only a couple hundred bucks.

When the West Coast tickets went on sale, I strategically focused on Night 2 in San Diego. I figured it would be the least popular show that went on sale at 10 a.m. PST. I was right and snagged four tickets.
Before I tell you this next part, remember I was a broke college student with a patchwork plan. I'm not proud of it. But, well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

They sold for roughly two or three times what I paid for them. In the meantime, I purchased tickets for Bonnaroo.
The earnings from ALLEGEDLY scalping them paid for my ticket, food and gas for a 9-hour drive from Arkansas to Manchester, Tenn.

I have never smelled worse than I did after those three days.
But 14 years later, it was still one of the best weekends ever. And Radiohead was amazing. Fin.
