have y'all forgotten that Lorde said that the events of Melodrama takes place all within a SINGLE HOUSE PARTY??? O N E N I G H T plus the morning after???? And she got the masterpiece that is Melodrama out of that experience...

I-

Iconic.
I am convinced the story of Melodrama is that she encounters her ex-lover who she was involved with for 3 years at this house party and the story plays out from there
(1) She's getting ready for the party, reminiscing about them and the breakup (Greenlight), sees them at the party and encounters them again (Sober), starts fucking around (Homemade Dynamite), starts having flashbacks of their memories together (The Louvre)...
(2) Crying in the bathroom scene, acknowledging that the're broken up and the fun they're having at the party is only temporary, hence feeling like "a toy that people enjoy 'till all of the tricks don't work anymore, and then they are bored of me" (Liability)
(3) Having memories of the actual breakup, or at least the worst parts of it (Hard Feelings/Loveless), then waking up the next morning, no longer intoxicated, and regretting the night before (Sober II), Writer In The Dark is self explanatory, more memories playing out (Supercut)
Then I feel like we jump ahead in a time, when Lorde has found peace within herself, and finally moved on. She's out partying like before, but she's actually enjoying herself, bringing new people home with her, and basically the story just comes full circle. (Perfect Places)
does anybody else think about this on a regular basis, or are y'all normal? (end of thread)
