#StarWarsSunday Today's 1st action figure review is definitive, from Revenge of the Sith, the Magnaguard Droid! (General Grievous's bodyguards) https://www.jedibusiness.com/figureDetails.aspx?id=524
If you watched the Clone Wars Microseries, these guys played a big role in the last 2 episodes. In ROTS, even getting beheaded wouldn't stop them. Heck, if these guys were used as basic battle droids the Separatists would have won the Clone Wars, IMO!
Like most VC figures, he has 14 POA, and comes with removable chestplates, cloak, blaster and staff with electric effect attachments. The chest plates show the mechanisms inside the droid.
The prices for this figure online are insanely high! On card, he runs from $40-$125. Loose, he starts at $38. Needless to say, if you want him now, you'll pay a lot to get him.
Interesting note: the Magnaguard Droid was designed as a concept General Grievous, once Lucas saw the design, he felt it would be best used as his bodyguard instead.
Hasbro could one day repack this, but so far no plans have been revealed that they will. If they do, they don't need to make any changes. End thread.
