ang lungkot na parang normal part ng childhood natin ang physical abuse :/ let's all try to be better parents/adults https://twitter.com/MoodFlix/status/1259340805480697857
the way a lot of people in my mentions are telling me it's okay kasi magkaiba daw ang discipline sa physical abuse 😭at kung hindi daw sila pinalo they wouldn't be better people 😭 good for you that you turned out okay despite that pero not all children experience the same thing
Also, here's a resolution from the APA citing that physical discipline is harmful and ineffective; "Spanking gets their attention, but they have not internalized why they should do the right thing in the future." There are better ways to discipline kids. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2019/05/physical-discipline
Please stop telling me you got hit as a kid and you don't see it as abuse. A lot of us grew up with difficulty to communicate and are scared of doing anything because we might make mistakes. We grew in fear and that made us emotionally stunted adults and that isn't okay.
