#JusticeForShaliTilson: a thread of a sad and unjust event which needs to be heard
all credit goes to @BuryMeInMyLouis. she shares the whole story of what happened to her younger brother I just want to inform the rest of twitter on what is happening. AGAIN, this is not my story.
this thread is quite graphic and discusses topics such as abuse, mental illness, weight loss, neglect, bad living and sleeping conditions, and death. to be respectful to those triggered by these, I will not share the graphic videos in this thread but will provide a link to watch.
shali tilson was a 22 year old man going to college for criminal justice in Rhode Island studying to become a paralegal
now please keep in mind shali had a mental illness, he was having a mental breakdown and was arrested on misdemeanor charges. he was wrongfully accused.
tilson was beaten 6 different times before being put in this small cell which caused a severe head injury and a brain bleed along with other injuries.
he was held at Rockdale County Jail in Conyers, GA for 9 days. he was placed in a 10 ft solitude cell and was stripped of his clothing. there was no bed, toilet or source of water. there was just a small hole in the middle to be used as a toilet.

during his time in this cell, he was not allowed out at all which means no exercise, showers or basic daily things. there was literal trash in his cell.

he would beg officers and nurses for help, he would try and climb the walls. the officers who were supposed to be watching him did not give him any water or food.

because of this he lost 20 pounds due to dehydration and malnutrition.
shali tilson was left there laying dead for 4 hours until they checked up on him. going through the hashtag on Instagram I read that he was supposed to be check on every 15 minutes.
many still question why this wonderful young man was not placed in a facility where he can get proper care and help.
Sargent Dan Lang, who was Shali& #39;s supervisor, allegedly falsified the jail records by saying that he was being checked up on every 15 minutes.
so far as I could tell, none of the officers will be held criminally accountable for this bright young man& #39;s death. the tilson family demands answers so please help and support them in any way.
