May 10, 1940 - 80 years ago today

At 5:35 am, the German attack began as a prelude to the "Westfeldzug". The "Fall Gelb" puts an end to the "Sitzkrieg" (funny war). The advance through Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands is unexpected at the moment...
It is also difficult to imagine the attack with powerful armored forces across the Ardennes.
The next few weeks will see the decision ...

The line is vigilant. All over the observation bells, the eyes are directed towards the border.
The 133rd RIF is alarmed! The Ouvrage, the Casemates, the blockhouses and the intermediate zone are occupied. The Saar dam at Wittring is closed. The waiting for the enemy's begins.
