When a church with 100 people & zero budget can’t figure out how to access a diverse leader, I get it. This is simply not the case with The Liturgists. When hundreds of thousands people are at your fingertips you can find someone & as the creator of the show you set the timeline. https://twitter.com/michaelgungor/status/1259316749465350144
I know no one who would say those of us with privilege can never talk about topics of social justice without marginalized people in the room. But all rooms are not created equal or to serve the same purpose. If you don't see that you shouldn't be leading. https://twitter.com/michaelgungor/status/1259316754506903552?s=20
A podcast with hundreds of thousands of listeners is not my kitchen table. My kitchen table needs to have thin people around it talking about fatphobia. And you know what often can start healthy kitchen table conversations? Podcasts with access to a diverse set of leaders.
This one may make me the maddest of all. There was NO "mob of cancel culture" in this conversation. This is straight up gaslighting. How DARE YOU act like a victim towards a bunch of women who spoke with grace, patience & a willingness to teach & engage. https://twitter.com/michaelgungor/status/1259316769937752064?s=20
I saw not one person suggesting people unsubscribe from the podcast, pull their support from Patreon, leave one star reviews on the podcast or even call Hillary or other contributors to break ties with Michael.

Critique is not cancel culture.
There were many who said they respected Christy's work around body image, intuitive eating, etc. Stop pitting women against each other. We honor Christy & think this was the wrong space for her to speak alone. https://twitter.com/michaelgungor/status/1259316764174761984?s=20
