A non-scientist neighbor wanted to know what kind of snake was lying across her path, but she couldn’t recall the word ‘species’, so I got a text asking “What brand of snake is this?”. Now I can’t help wondering how species would market themselves.

I’m pretty sure that gopher snake would be “I can’t believe it’s not a rattlesnake!”
