I love that Peter Frampton’s “Show Me The Way” rounds out Bono’s 60th birthday musical pilgrimage. This song, along with the Bay City Rollers’ “Bye Bye Baby” & a Beach Boys medley, was played by Feedback at the debut of Bono’s new quartet at the Mount Temple talent show in 1976. https://twitter.com/u2/status/1259423345386405888

And as always, I’m grateful @neil_mccormick was there to help capture the moment.
My “Show Me the Way” moment. As a senior in high school, I was selected to participate in a program to help elementary school children w emotional problems. I spent a few hours every week w Brian & John. An amazing thing happened—those kiddos got better. And they changed my life.
In that program I learned the power of presence, empathy, authenticity, & unconditional positive regard. This last semester, decades later, I did the same thing with a handful of other children at a poor downtown elementary school, and again, those kids wrecked me.
This weekend, I graduated with a 2nd masters, this one in marriage and family therapy. I now embark on a new profession as psychotherapist. This holy pilgrimage started when I was 17. I’ve come full circle. And never happier.
