Happy Mother's Day, everyone. To those who are mothers, have mothers, hope to be mothers someday. To those who have lost mothers, found mothers, freed themselves from harmful mothers, or are mothering their beloved others in new and joyful ways, every day. This day is yours, too.
And most of all, Happy Mothers Day to those of you who are quietly mothering yourselves, gathering up the wounded parts of your psyches and holding them close and in care. Part of the work of adulthood is learning how to mother our childhood selves. It's hard and I see you.
