My advice 4 most people would be to spend some of this lockdown time getting used to watching TV with Closed Captions. A lot of times we find CCs annoying or distracting just because we& #39;re not used to them. Amir and I use CCs all the time at home and I barely notice them anymore

We don& #39;t always know when we will come across someone who need CCs. If it& #39;s a group situation and someone requests the use of CCs it can make them feel uncomfortable an alienated if the response is "I find them too annoying, can& #39;t you go without this time?"

Obviously this advice might not work for everyone, for example those with a learning or sensory processing difference. But I would encourage most people to give CCs a go. I might continue this thread with all the advantages I have personally found to using CCs as a hearing person
