In 2014 telemundo started broadcasting shows in Africa courtesy of dstv, they had a line up of shows and each one had something that would hook you and keep you wanting more. Here’s a few of the shows that made telemundo what it was cc: @lilmissdaisyr

Let’s start with the fan favourite My heart bearts for Lola. A love story that had us hooked, both from two different sides of the track but had a love filled with excitement, twists, turns and kept you hanging. Toxic but cute. Plus it introduced us to telemundo fave Jencarlos.

Aurora: this too was one of the telenovelas that dropped when the channel was introduced. Aurora wakes up from a cryonic sleep about 20 years later to a different world but the twist is she didn’t age and her memory picks up from when she was frozen.

Behind closed doors. Booy this one was a doozy. Long story short, every family has it’s secrets especially the rich and wealthy.

The Del monte Dynasty: Paula came to the Delmonte ranch to seek revenge on her brothers for what happened to her father and love happened. This one was one of the best novelas.

Fearless heart: from being his bodyguard physically to stealing his heart.

Precious Rose: Eva and Rose are best friends, sisters even. Life happened and Rosa had a baby but tragedy struck and Rosa died. So Eva took Rosa’s identity and went looking for revenge for her dead ‘sister.’

Cruel Love: every dog has their day. Antonio is a player who swore he would never settle down and he would live the adventurous life of a player until he meets Sofia.

Forbidden passions: let’s not lie we all started watching this because we saw Jencarlos but the story ended up pulling us in and kept us hooked. Forbidden love is the sweetest.

Queen of hearts!! This one was epic! Reina and Nicolas met one night and fell in love but and accident happened that caused Reina to lose memories of the last 8 years of her life.

Manuel and Silvana this one was pure comedy. Good show too. When life happens you adjust.

All roads lead to love: long story short, men ain’t shit and they will always disgrace you.

Elena’s ghost: two elenas, one was a twin who died on her wedding day and the other was the woman who Eduardo ended up falling for after escaping the trauma.

Part of me: Monica died and came back in the body of Adriana because she had some unfinished business with her killers.

The Imposter: Blanca came into the Altamira family to revenge for her father but love happens when she meets Eduardo Altamira

Someone’s watching: wheew this one was a doozy! Basically they were looking for a killer who cut single mothers up in pieces while the killer was among them.

Where is Elisa: if chaotic family had a face it would be this one. It’s always the family member you trust.

A passion for revenge: the Gallardo brothers infiltrate the Del Junco ranch to revenge the death of their sister Alma but what they didn’t expect were the gorgeous Del Junco sisters.

Under the same sky: this show was brilliant in more ways than one but one of them for me was how it showcased what immigrants go through crossing the border and trying to live the American dream.

Dangerous Affairs: teacher + student= a recipe for disaster.

Iron Rose: women are strong and always build themselves from the shit life throws.
