So #MichaelThinks, at 5 minutes to midnight, about the document dump on a Friday afternoon.
But, with the changing nature of technology and the way the public accesses news, media could or should be using the Friday dump to their advantage.
There& #39;s no doubt there& #39;s political hackery going on, defending the Government, criticising the Government, etc. But media surely knew that this would happen at some point in the crisis.
And that buried in the documents is the tidbit the Government wanted to hide.
So why the surprise? Why the criticism?
It& #39;s like playing Australia in cricket and complaining they sledge. It& #39;s going to happen. Complaining won& #39;t change that.
But if you use the sledging as an excuse for losing, then really you& #39;ve got to look at your training and take responsibility.
#MichaelThinks (particularly clumsily in this case) that the media has form for criticising the Friday dump. They (probably) have a half written article ready to drop criticising the cynical move.
But I think this shows part of what& #39;s wrong with media. Wrong? No. Stale with media. They still operate with the Newspaper and 6pm deadlines.
By the time these come out, the public that& #39;s interested in the news has already read it. The rest art going to care enough either way.
Why don& #39;t media take advantage of this? Document dumps need expert analysis, that& #39;s journalists& #39; job. But, while they do the analysis, why don& #39;t they wholesale dump the documents on Twitter et al for the beltway users to digest and misinterpret themselves.
Crowd source analysis.
Then, the info is out there, albeit in a raw state.
This would or could have two effects:
1) there& #39;s time to fully analyse the documents whilst also seeing what& #39;s resonating in the beltway
2) the raw analysis by us political hacks might put Government off cynical Friday dumps.

Just the midnight ramblings of the fifth #MichaelThinks (which justifiably no one really reads) but in summary, media should take advantage of the predictable nature of politicians.
And now I& #39;m annoyed I just found this thread which explains my point better than I could
