As much as I love my mother, and love being a mother myself, Mother’s Day is a complicated day for many of us. So, I want to say...

To all the biological mothers, foster mothers, adoptive mothers, spiritual mothers, other mothers, aunties & grandmothers...

1/4
...single mothers, widowed mothers, married mothers, working mothers and homemaking mothers, & doing-whatever-you-have-to-for-survival mothers...

To women who want to be mothers but can't, women who didn't want to be mothers but are...

2/4
...women missing mothers they lost, women in need of healing from mothers who hurt them, mothers who lost children to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death, & mothers who gave up children they could not care for...

3/4
I am thinking of you this Mother's Day and praying for the God of Jesus Christ to gather you under his wings, as a mother hen gathers her chicks. May faith, hope, and love abound to you today and always.

I should’ve added: For women who are made to feel “less than” because they are not mothers. You are in my prayers, too.
