The Limerick Jewish Pogrom of 1904 is well-known. The local Jewish community lived in the Wolfe Tone area of the city. The story fascinates me and I think that the street deserves a commemorative plaque. I should add that the use of the word 'pogrom' to describe the events has been the subject of debate. Following the Channel 4 documentary 'Witness: A Great Hatred' (1997), some prominent historians questioned its historical accuracy as there were no killings.
