Hi everyone! Here’s a quick Twitter thread on some of the shows I’ve watched during lockdown and a rating out of ten in case you’re wondering what to watch next! Let’s go! 1/
#BetterCallSaul (S5)- Netflix- 8/10. Throughly enjoyable once again. It’s nice to see a show that writes such interesting characters & then actually puts the work into developing them properly. It’s also shot and put together beautifully. Worth checking out if it's new to you.
#Homeland (S8) - Showtime- 7/10. Homeland has been great at reinvesting itself over the years. This final season was back to basics and while it was an enjoyable and fitting end to a great show, it didn’t set me ablaze. Will miss Mr Berenson like hell though.
#TheMorningShow - AppleTV+- 9/10. An absolute rollercoaster from the outset. BRILLIANT performances and a great story. The script was so good that despite the VERY famous cast, every character felt so real. A must watch.
#Devs - Hulu- 9/10. Another incredible sci-fi thriller from the mind of Alex Garland. A heady cocktail of dramatic visuals, intense characters and a trippy plot. Zach Grenier a performance highlight for me. Also a must watch and all available on BBC iPlayer at the mo.
#Hunters - Amazon Prime- 8/10. The stylish, gory tale of a misfit band of Nazi hunters living in the USA starring Al Pacino. Twists and turns throughout as well as some awesome action sequences. One or two annoying characters but mostly great performances, especially Louis Ozawa.
#Unorthadox - Netflix- 7. A brilliant mini-series in which an Orthadox Jewish woman attempts to flee an arranged marriage. Cool story and a wonderful performance by Shira Haas. Let down slightly by (in my opinion) some poor cinematography.
#Servant - Apple TV+- 8/10. An eerie horror from M. Nigh Shyamalan. Wonderful quick pace to each episode. @Shiromi_ & I flew through it. Great if you like creepy stuff without the jump scares. Not great if babies scare you. I really enjoyed it & I’m excited for S2. Bravo Apple.
#GiriHaji - BBC- 6/10. Really enjoyed it but I had to mark it down. While the Japanese characters & scenes felt intense & gritty (just what I like) the UK characters seemed annoying & cartoonish. Worth a watch for a brilliant story but frustrating moments & basic cinematography.
#TheMandalorian - Disney+- 9/10. This show is just class. Everything about it fills me with joy. The worlds, the characters, the action sequences. It’s just pure Star Wars, as it should be. Another must watch.
#MiddleditchAndSchwartz - Netflix- 8/10. A genuinely hilarious improv comedy special that is quite frankly just a great way to laugh a few hours away. It’s kind of feels like you’re watching two talented mates being silly. Laughed out loud a lot, shame there wasn’t more.
#TheILand - Netflix- 2/10. One of the worst things I have ever set eyes on. It's like a REALLY REALLY shit Lost where nothing happens and everyone is a twat.
