Imagine if after 9/11 we’d had a string of weeks in which 2,000 people per day were killed by terrorists but then it started tapering so maybe 1,700 people died one day and sophisticated analysis suggested that maybe soon we could see a day with only 1,000 terror deaths.

I guess what I’m saying is the combination of slightly falling confirmed case numbers with rising test volume and falling positivity rate is good news ... sort of.

Or imagine articulating the sentiment, “liberals are hyping up the al-Qaeda problem to make George W Bush look bad, but the reality is the vast majority of the 10,000+ people they kill every week are senior citizens so it’s no big deal.”
