Wikipedia is sometimes very concise: “Appeasement in an international context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict.” In a domestic context, it means not taking a position opposite “The Narrative.”
“The Narrative” will flood the zone today to either not discuss General Flynn’s exoneration at all, or, if mentioned, to point out that the general pled guilty in order to muffle the far more important news from DOJ. There will plenty of #AGBarr bashing.
The origin of the virus in Wuhan and the growing Mount Everest of evidence concerning CCP’s contempt for world and disregard for human life everywhere and of all ethnicities and colors will be buried under @realDonaldTrump bashing because that’s what #TheResistance wants.
#TheResistance doesn’t want news. It doesn’t want the story of the abuse or General Flynn or the perfidy of the CCP to take up space. Certainly not Schiff’s embarrassment. It’s all TDS all the time on Twitter and in the Sunday papers and on the shows that serve “The Narrative.”
There may be bright spots. I’ll play them in the morning. Someone will note the Flynn persecution ranks with CoIntelPro as a scandal. Someone will point to Xi. Someone will cite transcripts that Schiff released b/c @RichardGrenell was going to. Someone will have courage.
But TDS will dominate —again. TDS has spread farther than the virus and all it destroys is news judgment and eventually credibility. The acid test will be people who don’t like General Flynn stating clearly, w/o hesitation or aside, that he was railroaded to get @realDonaldTrump
So it will be an interesting day. Who will have the courage to speak forthrightly about any of these three stories: the persecution of General Flynn in order to get @realDonaldTrump, the exposure of Adam Schiff via the transcripts, or the responsibility of CCP for all the deaths?
