Whenever I had mentioned of sauteed fiddlehead ferns to my friends from Mainland India, they would think that Northern Eastern Cuisine is all about exotic veggies. I had taught them other recepies too but 'Fern' stood out.

Little did I know that Fiddlehead is a part of many cuisines - Asian, European (In regions of France & Russia), North American (Parts of US & Canada). In India, it appears in Himachali & Gharwali/Kumaoni cuisines. I have read about it being a part of Coorgi diets as well.
