A thread
In 2015, we met again at Asaba and memories of the way we lived back in lagos took centre stage

Dr. Ifranyi Okowa had been elected as the Governor of Delta State

He is also from Owa Alero, same village as Lucky Sunday

Mr Lucky was appointed Chairman, Delta State Football...
...League Managemt Board

We were all happy. I automatically became his PA

We were there when the board was inaugurated at the Football House on Maryam Babangida Road, Asaba

I came to know a lot of people through this inauguration and from knowing Lucky Sunday too
Now, the board had been tasked with reviving the state league

Task was enormous, to say the least

I wasnt a member but j was present in all of the Board meetings

I played a vital role in making sure the league commenced and culminated properly

I love Football!
After the inauguration, work started

We needed a sponsor. We moved

We met with the CEO of Basalt Oil and gas Ltd and others. Proposals were sent out

I was always always on the move. I was busy and I found it interesting

I knew and met people in this line

We travelled too
We visited a lot of places in Delta State. I hadn't visited Ughelli before. Some parts of Kwale. I knew Ika more

It was interesting

I met with ex-internationals. People I had watched on TV

It was fun
After going back and forth, we sealed a deal with Basalt CEO to sponsor the league to the tine of N15 Million Naira

Work began

We needed to divide the teams according to their Senatorial districts as well as the numbers of teams in each zone

Delta North had more teams...
We had Delta North A, Delta North B, Delta South and Delta Central

Delta North A had Anioma FC, Ede FC, Ihu Iyase FC, Oracle Of God FC, Shalom FC, Ogidi Utd, Paul Matix FC, Mega Star FC and Rason FC

Delta North B had Ndokwa Young Stars FC, Abbi Utd FC, Texas Sports Academy...
...Heroes Sports Academy, Numalo FC, Young Shall Grow FC, Unique FC, Christ Embassy FC, Ken Zealand FC
