

Today’s the last day of Maternal Mental Health Week. Unfortunately I’ve not had time to contribute to the @HarmlessUK blog about this, but I still want to do my bit for this important week. So here’s a thread of useful links, support, & info.
The PANDAS Foundation support anyone who is affected by perinatal mental health, including their partners, family members, and friends. They have a free helpline (Mon-Sun, 9am-8pm), manned by trained volunteers.

Maternal OCD ( @maternalocd) is a charity which raises awareness of perinatal OCD, provides support & information for mothers suffering, and supports perinatal OCD research.

Twins Trust ( @TwinsTrust) run a listening service for parents of twins, triplets, and more. All of the calls are answered by volunteers who have multiples themselves.

Action on Postpartum Psychosis ( @ActionOnPP) is a charity which runs a peer support network, raises awareness for postpartum psychosis, funds research, & delivers training.

Association for Postnatal Illness ( @APNI_PND) is a UK charity. They provide support for mothers suffering with postnatal illness, and they raise awareness to the public.

The Maternal Mental Health Alliance ( @MMHAlliance) consist of over 90 organisations across the UK. They campaign together for maternal mental health, and are a good hub for information.

Samaritans ( @samaritans) is a well-known listening service, which is free and open 24/7. It is not specialised to perinatal mental health, however, they will listen to absolutely anything, and are excellent if you just need someone to talk to.
