On 5th December, 1990 he dismissed Roshan Mahanama of Sri Lanka and became the youngest cricketer to take an international wicket (17 yr and 224 days). He also dismissed Arjuna Ranatunga in the same match and later scored 53 off 41 balls and won the MOM award
He is the only bowler to defend six or less runs in an over twice in ODIs.
