Usually with zines I don’t take the time to physically map out a concept, I have a big generalized idea of a theme and photos I want to use and jump right into designing and slapping it together, zeroing in on the final version as I go along.
But with this most recent project I’ve quickly amassed upwards of 50 pages, and I’m still not really close to being done. So I’ve had to start page planning and laying down somewhat of a path so I don’t completely short circuit and give up on it altogether.
My sorry excuse of a layout and page plan can be found at the bottom right, the rest is the wreckage of my brainstorm of the zine you will never see, ‘When the Wound Stops Bleeding’.
I like sharing small inside things like this from my brain, but it also feels sort of naked which is why I end up deleting. In a weird way it holds me accountable a small amount. So we’ll see, maybe I’ll keep this thread posted with progress, maybe I’ll delete it all tomorrow.
