It's been said that every unity is in reality, a trinity.
3 in 1
A very unique trinity was created in the United States within an 8 year span:
- The Federal Reserve (1913)
- The Brookings Institute (1916)
- The Council on Foreign Relations (1921)
...and only 1 man was involved in the creation of all 3.

Paul Warburg

(3 in 1)
Paul Warburg was born in in 1868 in Hamburg, Germany, to a Jewish banking dynasty with origins in Venice. His parents were Moritz and Charlotte Esther (Oppenheim) Warburg.
After graduation in 1886, Warburg worked with Simon Hauer, an importer/exporter, to learn the fundamentals of business practice. He also worked for Samuel Montague & Company, bankers, in London in 1889–90, & the Banque Russe pour le Commerce Etranger in Paris in 1890–91.
In 1891, Warburg began working for his family's banking firm, M. M. Warburg & Co., which was founded in 1798 by his great-grandfather. In 1895, he married Nina J. Loeb, daughter of Solomon Loeb, a founder of the New York investment firm of Kuhn, Loeb & Co.
After frequent business trips to New York Warburg moved there in 1902, becoming a partner in Kuhn, Loeb & Co. Actually, Paul and his brother both made partner by marrying into the firm's family.
Paul began promoting a Central Bank for the U.S. and was in attendance at the secret Jekyll Island meeting where he helped design the Federal Reserve System in November 1910. He had not even become a U.S. Citizen yet! He did this in 1911.
Then in 1913, the Fed was enacted and President Woodrow Wilson appointed Warburg as a member of the very First Federal Reserve Board.
In 1916, The Brookings Institute was created. A "think-tank" to conduct research & education in economics (and tax policy), foreign policy, global economy, & economic development. Paul Warburg became Trustee of the Brookings Institute that same year & remained so until his death.
The Council on Foreign Relations was formed in 1921, another think tank specializing in US foreign policy and international affairs. Paul Warburg was named a director of the CFR in that same year and later was a board member until his death.
Paul Warburg is the only person to be associated with all three entities at their inception.
