I have finished My Dear Loser: Edge of 17 but for the BL part only because let's be honest, the Oh-Peach-Copper storyline got draggy and boring.
SO HERE'S A THREAD WHY AINAM-IN-SUN STORYLINE DESERVES NOTHING BUT PRAISE AND RECOGNITION--
The Ainam-In-Sun storyline really stole and save the show. In my opinion, out of all the BL series I have watch, this has to be the closest to real life scenario/s.
Ainam likes Sun though she knows that he's gay. On the confession scene, though she got rejected by Sun, she eventually pushed him to 'coming out' and evetually following his heart.
At first, I thought I was more like Sun, a closeted gay falling inlove with a friend but turns out I was actually like Ainam. I am more than happy when two ppl find their happiness, even if it'll hurt me afterwards.
My favorite Ainam quote is:
No drama, no jealousy...
Pluem is a great actor no doubt, I have seen him from Happy birthday but in this series, Pluem did not get the chance to go deeper on his emotions. That is the reason why I wish the BL part was just produced as another season of MDL. But Pluem's acting is as good as Chimon's.
In from being a bully of Sun became his friend and eventually had a strange feeling towards Sun. In my opinion, In (Pluem) had the most difficult situation out of all the characters. That makes him a loser. His character development was slow and steady, but done with such grace.
But let's be honest In is a real jerk. In the episode of Our Skyy. In never really wanted a label, it's almost as if they're in an open realtionship and In is free while Sun is breaking.
In is a go-with-the-flow-kind of a guy. He's okay with anything, and he knows how to do everything (sort of). He's not also talkative, he likes to hide what he's thinking but we got a POV from him when Ainam talked to him and confronted him about his feelings for Sun.
Sun character is my favorite. From the beggining, they didn't paint him as straight guy falling in love with his straight friend. I think that is very rare in many BL series. He's gay and he knows it. He may not say it out loud because he's 17 and he is in the stage of confusion.
I think we all have experienced that. We thought being gay was just a "phase" everyone will go through but then turns out that this who we really are and once we have accepted it, everything feels so light, as if we were freed from a cage.
The confession scene was a real tear-jerker. Sun after everything that happened between him and In was sure that there's something between them. He felt that there is something more than being friends.
But as In realized that Sun is going to kiss him, In decided to tell Sun that he likes Ainam. And I think that scene is so beautiful, and raw. I have nothing but praise for Chimon's acting for the whole show. He really did a great job of controling the whole atmosphere.
#MyDearLoser #Edgeof17 (BL part) is a perfect example of real life scenarios, gay teenagers must go through. How In tried so hard to deny his feelings for Sun, the discrimination Sun has to go through not only from his classmates but also from his own family...
In courting Ainam to prove to himself that he's not gay, I think all of these are all examples of it. And for those whose going through that now, don't rush everything. No one should tell you when you should come out. Take it slow, until youre ready...😘
Hey. If SOTUS 3 is happening, and TayNew had a spin-off for Dark Blue Kiss, we should do the same for InSun. I really miss them.
