A Twitter tribute to my mom, @jnw367. If you had any doubt about how amazing my mom is, I’m here to list just some of the ways.
I received a package from her today with a giant bag of homemade Chex Mix, one for F and me, one for EJ. She and I sat in the hallway chowing down even though it was almost dinner.
As soon as EJ was born, I became a solo parent while F worked overnights and slept during the day. No matter what time it was, I could call her for help. The best advice: put her down in her crib and go take a shower.
And I still call her when things get rough parenting-wise. A 2 hr time difference means nothing to her. She’ll talk me down and then talk EJ down.
She has always taken an interest in my friends and what’s happening in their lives. I bet a lot of you don’t know that she pays attention on Twitter and is cheering you all on.
My friends growing up always wanted to hang at our house. We had the best snacks and my mom made a point to greet everyone, ask how they were, and then let us hang out together.
My mom has the coolest volunteer gig ever. I won’t openly say what it is, but it makes me proud knowing she is standing up to protect people.
She’s the reason I’m into true crime and started listening to @MyFavMurder. I used to be uneasy that she watched Dateline so much, but now I get it. She’d use her knowledge for good, not evil, and so would I.
It’s now 2am Eastern time, officially Mother’s Day in her neck of the woods and mine. Mom, I hope you have a great day. And don’t worry, there’s more to come ❤️
