So, I have now had 2 #C19 tests. I registered online - broadcaster is one of the eligible jobs - but no proof was required, so I guess anyone could register. For the first couple of days last week there was no availability within about 10 miles /more
Then many #test slots came up at a mobile site down the road, instantly available. I drove there (you can only register if you have a car) and was made to keep the car windows up. Only a few other cars there/ more
The army personnel manning the site hold up phone numbers. You call them, with the window up from inside the car and they tell you how to use the #COVID19 test. At my first test they dropped it through the window on my lap /more
I collected samples from back of throat and up nose with a #swab, put it into the container provided and threw it into a basket. They gave me a card and said I should register the bar code from the card online when I got home because their system wasn't working. /more
I did so & a couple of days later had a text saying my result was unclear and that I should retest. Again, booked online - much more choice of venue, and instant availability. I went to a mobile unit in Hyde Park and it became obvious why my first #test had been unclear/ more
This time, only one other car in front of me, same drill, holding phone numbers up, shouting to keep the windows closed, as bizarrely, joggers and walkers went past. But then I had to reach out and pick up my #testkit and was talked through it. Firstly, had to put on gloves /more
Then had 4 bar codes on sticky labels which went on the sample pot, an inner bag, an outer bag and a card. Which makes me think that the reason the 1st test was inconclusive was that it wasn't properly labelled and was therefore a giant waste of time and Govt resources./more
I exercised in the park, an hour later drove past the site on the way home. Apart from the staff, there was no one there. Just the odd maskless jogger. So, after personal experience - twice - not convinced of efficacy of procedure or veracity of numbers. No result yet 4 days on.
Update! Half an hour after I posted that tweet - a #result!

Your Covid-19 test has come back UNCLEAR. Please seek a repeat test via the route you used previously.
