Many of my friends have been put through s lot of emotional abuse because of takes like this one.

My first brush with this kind of sexism was when I was studying at CET (one of the best engineering colleges in Kerala).
Any girl who spoke out confidently (esp. in English), dressed nicely or hung out with dudes was systematically harassed and put down.
