Understand that the extreme gun nuts do NOT believe that the Constitution gives them the right to bear arms, they believe it gives them the right to USE arms. They derive that from some stupid notion of a natural right to defend oneself. Problem is, « defend » and

«oneself »has no real defenition. What started out in the SCOTUS ad defend one’s life, has been expanded to include property, and now, neighborhood. And certainly the extemist believe they have a right to use their weapons to defend against government « overreach » as they

personally define it.

Basically they think they get to kill anyone for any reason that tickles their fancy.
