How in the hell can you – in 2020, after over a century of lessons – be a part of the white majority within the U.S. while calling yourself “Left” and against white supremacy without prioritizing the approaches of *Black and Indigenous* forces on the Left who share your politics?
This was written decades ago; what still isn’t clicking?

We are talking directly to white folks who are actually politically aligned with us on the Left. https://twitter.com/BlackSocialists/status/1123328770419712001?s=20
It’s a bit baffling that this still isn’t understood (not really, though).

After all the Left has been through collectively.

After all our folks try to do.

No matter how fleshed out the program is.

No matter how much we reach out for collaboration. https://twitter.com/BlackSocialists/status/1123328721472110592?s=20
White comrades who support our org in all ways understand how deeply our struggles are tied together, and that to ensure poor and working-class Black communities see real transformation first is to catalyze truly revolutionary change within all poor and working-class communities.
White people avoiding this while calling themselves “Leftists” are really avoiding the fact that they’re not only okay with “Left-wing“ white supremacy, but that they also don’t want to relinquish the power afforded to them via white supremacy while dismantling the system itself.
Some of the white folks who support the work of our org and our partner orgs and other Black Left orgs already know this stuff, hence their support.

Most white folks on the “Left” still don’t understand this, and this is reflected in our present struggle.
