Update Day 55: This has been a tough week for us. My husband had a relapse of his symptoms, Kid 3& #39;s cough got worse, and I& #39;ve been having some weird symptoms that may be hypokalemia? #ThisisCovid19 #Covid19
One of my frustrations is that it feels like we& #39;re on our own to figure everything out. There are no options between a phone call with our family doctor and the Emergency Room. We took Kid 3 to the Covid Care clinic, but all they told us was that it& #39;s not pneumonia.
But when poor Kid 3 is having uncontrollable coughing fits and can& #39;t catch her breath, we& #39;d kind of like more than just to know it& #39;s not pneumonia. How do we deal with this?
Also, all of my chicken pox spots got infected, two of them quite badly. They should have been lanced and drained by a doctor but they weren& #39;t an emergency so we did our best to treat them at home. From what I& #39;ve read, secondary infections of all kinds are very common.
As we& #39;re learning more about Covid and how its effects go beyond pneumonia, there need to be options for people to access hands-on care that is not tying up ER staff and taking them away from real emergencies.
