Update Day 55: This has been a tough week for us. My husband had a relapse of his symptoms, Kid 3's cough got worse, and I've been having some weird symptoms that may be hypokalemia? #ThisisCovid19 #Covid19
One of my frustrations is that it feels like we're on our own to figure everything out. There are no options between a phone call with our family doctor and the Emergency Room. We took Kid 3 to the Covid Care clinic, but all they told us was that it's not pneumonia.
But when poor Kid 3 is having uncontrollable coughing fits and can't catch her breath, we'd kind of like more than just to know it's not pneumonia. How do we deal with this?
Also, all of my chicken pox spots got infected, two of them quite badly. They should have been lanced and drained by a doctor but they weren't an emergency so we did our best to treat them at home. From what I've read, secondary infections of all kinds are very common.
As we're learning more about Covid and how its effects go beyond pneumonia, there need to be options for people to access hands-on care that is not tying up ER staff and taking them away from real emergencies.
