Having the power to instantly recall every mistake or bad moment people have had... it's too much for humanity to use responsibly.
There is some shit that we use to HAVE to let go because with the passage of time and memories becoming less vivid it just sort of went away. That wasn't perfect but it's better than what we have now.
Instant digital recall used to mentally flagellate folks even when they have admitted they made mistakes and apologized and change behavior... we really don't need these abilities.
It would've been cool if it was really about accountability and what not but it's been passed that.
We say "nobody is perfect" but it doesn't come into consideration when "we" demand perfection of every one else all the damned time. No wonder social media exacerbates so many mental health issues.
"Nobody is perfect but I expect you to understand the mistake you made 3 seconds ago and delivery an apology that is so perfect it's like you never did the thing in the first place. Also I'm gonna bring this up forever and call you names." LOL
Meanwhile over the years I've clocked how much of these moments are about jealousy, envy and pettiness disguised as "holding someone accountable."

It's all a hot mess.
James Baldwin saying that white people need the concept of "the nigger" and therefore they MAKE black people the "nigger" so they can feel superior to someone.

It's easy to see when it comes to race but it extends to a lot of shit. People NEED objects of their ire.
And a lot of folks have decided to manufacture evil irredeemable adversaries of anyone who dare make a mistake. And no mater how what that person does from that point on they can't be allowed to move past that moment. Because then who are YOU superior too?
It's a great way to say "this person is more (blank) than me BUT I can hold onto this moment where they messed up. So even with their (fame, clout, money, whatever) I'm better than them. Look everyone. At how much BETTER I am!"
Anyways... that was on my mind today.
