I had a video hit 12k views on TikTok this week and it’s got me thinking a lot about scale, accessibility, and how it shifts artistic identity. As a creator of often intimate work, it’s likely that far fewer than 12k ppl have seen my creative work over the past 3 yrs COMBINED. 1/
So does this random TikTok define me as a maker as it’s what the majority of audiences have seen of my art? Or can I still be defined by my other work because it (hopefully) leaves a more lasting impression on the audience? 2/
XR and theatre are powerful because they are intimate, but it’s often at the cost of access & scale, deeply limiting audience reach. In a world where we won’t be able to gather for a long time, how do we keep the artistic identities we prefer without reaching an audience? 3/3
