On public demand.
I got the border pass for Kerala today. Listing down what we did, so folks who're planning to do so, will have an idea.

I wasn't planning to go home initially but my senior from office arranged for cars and then bugged me into registering, offering the very 'in demand' extra seat in the car. 😅. They'd already registered on Norkaroots and then Covid19jagratha.

2/
By the time I tried, they took off domestic registrations off. So, I registered on Covid19jagratha.

So REGISTER, ppl.

Didn't have a lot of hope, tbh. But still registered cz I really didn't want to risk a train or flight journey with too many people.

All of us have been on wfh for almost 2 months now, so the grp is relatively low risk.

Since some of us got the city police clearance today, we decided enough with waiting around. Next step. Check up on the progress of pass.

4/
Once corporation/panchayath approves, it shouldn't take much time. The next level approvals took couple more hours but we got it by evening

That's part 1 done.
Takeaway - follow up is important.

5/
Part 2.
I also got medical clearance certificate for travelling from a doc, stating I don't have any fever/flu symptoms.

6/
Part 3 is clearance from city police. That part is still pending for some of us.
Since we have state border pass and cars, hopefully that'll come thru soon.

7/
DO NOT START without all clearances. You'd be in limbo if u get stuck anywhere during the travel. The govt has been repeating the instructions since beginning, you'd only have yourself to blame for messing up due to over smartness. Better wait till the passes come through

Now preparing for the trip.
Water, food is important. Carry fruits etc. Essential meds also. Remember, if you're travelling from Red zone like we're, you'll be going straight to govt quarantine possibly, without à stopover at home, so be prepared for that.

9/
Like my dad keeps reminding me, don't over pack, but pack enough. And don't leave out anything you'd need. You. might not be able to return for a couple of months.

10/
For now, it's been just this much.

Since many of my friends have asked me to keep them posted on the road trip - hopefully the pending permission comes through and we will make it to the road trip - I'll update this as things happen.
Till then, good luck with ur paperwork too 🤞🏾
So... I'm still stuck in Mumbai but some of the folks got police permission and have left already. Traffic was sparse and there was intermittent checking but they didn't face any issue cz they had pass printed out.

They reached border in 8 hours to find a loooong queue. At kolhapur, they had to get down & give details at the check post. They asked for name, mob. number, car number, no of people in car, destination and starting state. They said no entry fee 4 Kerala destination vehicles
